Without a pilot, the project steers itself

Without a single decision point, responsibilities blur, approvals drag on and management only discovers the real progress at acceptance testing. This is not a technical problem: it is a coordination problem.

Who is it for?

  • Organisations launching an IT project with no internal resource to manage it.

  • Business departments that need a technical go-between with their suppliers.

  • Organisations that want to secure a critical project (migration, ERP roll-out, overhaul of the information system).

When outside project management helps

A project can remain technically feasible while slipping because decisions are not taken at the right moment. Responsibilities become unclear, approvals come late, requests pile up without their impact being measured, and management loses a reliable view of progress. This service provides a shared framework between business teams, management and technical contributors.

It is particularly useful when several suppliers work on the same project, when a migration must avoid a sensitive business period, or when the organisation has no IT project manager available in-house. Our role is to make decisions, dependencies, risks and blockers visible. It is not to replace management or to guarantee the commitments of other contributors.

The level of involvement matches the project: one-off scoping before a tender, follow-up of key milestones, or management over the full duration. Scope, meeting frequency and the people authorised to approve are set before starting, so that a coordination assignment does not turn into permanent support or open-ended liability.

What is included

  • Functional and technical specifications.

  • Delivery follow-up, planning, and identification and tracking of project risks.

  • Supplier coordination, follow-up of project commitments and organisation of deliverable approval.

  • Change management support for end users, within the agreed scope.

The starting price shown above is a daily rate. A fixed price is also possible on a validated scope, deliverables and schedule.

How it works

  1. Preparation: scope, objectives and constraints.

  2. Planning: specifications and detailed schedule.

  3. Execution: coordination of contributors, progress tracking, risk management.

  4. Acceptance: organisation of acceptance testing, follow-up of feedback and support for approval of deliverables by the parties concerned.

  5. Closure: go-live support, closing documentation and change support within the agreed scope.

For organisations outside France, meetings take place by video call in English or French, and the schedule takes your time zone into account. On-site workshops are possible on quote.

Deliverables

  • Functional and technical specifications.

  • Project schedule with milestones.

  • Progress reports and dashboards.

  • Acceptance reports and closing documentation.

  • End-of-assignment documentation, a wrap-up meeting and handover of identified open points.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work on a daily rate or a fixed price? Both. A fixed price relies on an agreed scope, deliverables and schedule; any major change is analysed and quoted separately. A daily rate suits assignments that evolve over time.

Can you manage suppliers we have already chosen? Yes: we act on your side and coordinate your existing suppliers. Contractual responsibility, lead times, costs and quality of delivery remain with the suppliers concerned, according to their own commitments.

How long does a typical assignment last? From a few weeks for a one-off project to several months for a large transformation.

What exactly is in and out of scope? Included: defining the need, planning and risk tracking; supplier coordination and acceptance testing; decision support and closure. Not included: technical delivery, development, configuration or integration not planned; contractual responsibility for suppliers or any guarantee on deadlines, budget or project success; final decisions and business or budget trade-offs in place of management; full user training, large-scale change management, user support; outsourced IT management, on-call duty, continuous availability and crisis management.
